FALL 2020 RESTART EVALUATION FINDINGS
In October of the 2020-2021 school year, we used feedback obtained from the spring pulsing, along with guidance from the Jeffco Board of Education to develop a plan to evaluate the restart in the fall, focusing on the key components of effective instruction, student engagement, and student academic achievement. To continue to understand how to better meet the needs of our students, educators, and families we conducted three pulsing surveys and completed additional analyses on MAP and Acadience data, which are detailed in the full evaluation report below.
SPRING 2020 LEARNING AT HOME FEEDBACK
In these unprecedented times, it is important to understand how our students, families, and employees are doing. Almost overnight, the learning environment for students, staff, and families changed dramatically. We want to hear your stories, understand the needs, and synthesize the current sentiments about our shared experiences.
Why are we doing surveys?
- to understand how to better meet student, educator, and family needs while learning at home
- to see how needs change over time with follow-up surveys
- to improve programs and technology to support learning

STUDENT LEARNING PREFERENCES SURVEY
During the summer and fall of 2020 families were asked about the learning preferences and needs of their students to inform schools about fall 2020 scheduling. The report below outlines secondary student learning model preferences (hybrid, remote, or no preference) from nearly 27,000 respondents across Jeffco. The report also highlights student needs such as access to devices and internet, and other learning needs like academic and social emotional supports.
Annual District SURVEYs
District climate surveys are conducted each school year. The following board presentation includes results from the three climate surveys (student, family, educator) from the 2019-20 school year.
