Health Services

Jeffco Public Schools' Department of Health Services support student learning by providing health consultation and resources to support students and their family.

Each school has a District Registered Nurse that consults with students, parents, school staff, and administration to provide optimum school health. Please ask your child’s school for their District RN contact details if your child has a health need that requires support during the school day.

Please notify your school’s RN (not health aide) of any significant health condition that will need intervention at school. Each school also has a school health aide who does day-to-day care of students including: medication, Band-Aids, ice, and minor care.

Please keep your child’s health concerns updated at registration and as conditions change during the school year. It is also critical that we have current contact details so help us by keeping phone numbers updated. Here is advice from Children's Hospital on when to keep your child home from school due to illness and Jeffco's Policy on student illness. Helpful information on the top 20 infectious illness students may contract.
