Jeffco Career Links

Jeffco Career Links is a one-stop resource for students, educators, industry partners, community leaders and families for work-based learning. Our goal is to link students from the classroom to careers.

Work-Based Learning Activities

Colorado’s work-based learning (WBL) continuum provides students with hands-on, real-world experience in pursuing their career pathways. WBL programs help students secure industry-relevant skills, certifications, credentials and higher levels of education and employment.

The continuum contains quality expectations that are organized in three categories of WBL activities:

Learning About Work Learning Through Work Learning at Work

Students can contact their school counselor or CTE teacher for more information.

Career Explore

Career Explore is a program for students to become engaged learners through a defined structure of exploration, technical and essential skill development, and engagement outside the classroom. Through this program, students explore career pathways of interest and obtain industry-specific training and certifications. Career Explore is an option for students to earn work-based learning experience in a career pathway to help support their postsecondary opportunities. It is currently available at Bear Creek High School, Dakota Ridge High School, Chatfield High School, Wheat Ridge High School, and Arvada West High School.

GROW Jeffco Career Hubs

The Get Ready for Opportunities at Work (GROW) Jeffco Career Hubs facilitate established connections between educators, students, industry and community professionals in order for postsecondary readiness to be achieved by students upon exiting Jeffco.

The Career Hubs were created in partnership with the Jeffco Public Schools Foundation and the Arvada Chamber of Commerce as part of the GROW Jeffco Initiative. Read the Work-Based Learning Toolkit to learn more.
