Career Pathways & CTE
Career Pathways in Jeffco
Jeffco Career Pathways follows the Colorado Career and Technical Education (CTE) state plan. CTE ensures a thriving Colorado economy by providing relevant and rigorous education that is connected, responsive and real. CTE engages students and prepares them with the skills they need for fulfilling careers in vital, in-demand, industries and occupations.
Jeffco CTE's mission is to prepare all students for successful careers through the real-world application of core and durable academic skills by partnering classrooms with businesses, industries and communities that positively impact the future workforce. College Credit Opportunities in Career Pathways
Jeffco career pathways programs partner with higher education institutions to offer free or low-cost college credit opportunities to students. Jeffco believes that every student should have access to experiencing college courses before they finish high school. These opportunities can save a family thousands of dollars during a student's academic career.
Career & Technical Student Organizations
Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO) work as an integral component of the classroom curriculum and instruction. Students have opportunities to hold leadership positions at the local, state, and national level and attend leadership development conferences to network with other students as well as business and industry partners.
Industry Partners & Work-Based Learning
Industry partnerships provide valuable insight for students to gain experience solving business problems with the guidance of mentorship. Work-Based Learning (WBL) courses offer students experiential opportunities including job shadowing and internships to explore careers outside of the classroom.
