Library Services
The vision of Jeffco’s libraries is to provide a student-centered, inclusive experience that empowers learners, strengthens community, and nurtures a lifelong love of reading.

It’s not just about great books, but about the right books for you.
Need a hand? Your Digital Teacher Librarian is there to help. Each school library website has a link to Destiny Discover, our online library catalog. Students have access to this catalog around the clock. In addition, we partner with Jefferson County Public Libraries to provide eBooks and databases for research.

DreamBooks Recycling
Jeffco Public Schools partners with DreamBooks to support sustainability efforts districtwide. Find a permanent recycling bin at select locations across our district. These bins accept used, new, and old books, DVDs, CDs and textbooks.

DTLs are instructional leaders and innovators in their buildings–using print and digital media along with technology tools to support teachers and students.
Jeffco's Book Review Process
When a book does not have two scholarly reviews or when its appropriate grade-level placement is uncertain, it is reviewed in full by one of two Digital Teacher Librarian (DTL) committees (Elementary or Secondary). Before beginning their evaluations, committee members participate in training and calibration sessions using the district’s internal evaluation rubric to ensure consistent, high-quality application of review standards. This internal vetting process serves as an important safety net, ensuring that requested titles are thoughtfully reviewed for both educational value and age appropriateness.
These committees read and evaluate current titles to identify and recommend books that are both high quality and of high interest for students. They also assess potentially controversial titles to ensure appropriateness within the designated grade-level bands. Books are reviewed to see how they align with the grade/age level requirements of at least two grade levels within the school setting.
Request for Reconsideration
To request a library resource for review, parents/guardians of current Jeffco students can complete the Request for Reconsideration form.
You must be a parent or guardian of a current Jeffco student to access the form. Please follow these steps to log in and complete the form:
- Visit the Jeffco Help Support Portal and log in with the red Parent/Guardian button.
- Open the Request for Reconsideration form
- Enter the same Jeffco username and password you use for EnrollJeffco and Campus Parent Portal
- Complete the form in its entirety, then click "Place Request"
- No complainant may file a new challenge until all of that individual's previously filed challenges have been decided.
If you need additional assistance, please contact the service desk at: 303-982-2200.
For additional information about the reconsideration process, please refer to Board Policy KEC-R2.
