Parents As Teachers (PAT)

Parents as Teachers (PAT) is an internationally recognized home visitation program that is dedicated to helping families understand and support their child’s developmental milestones. The evidence based curriculum is tailored to the specific needs of each child with the goal of ensuring that each family has the knowledge, resources, and tools necessary to thrive. The Jeffco Parents as Teachers program works with parents of children ages prenatal through 3 years of age.

A PAT parent educator meets with a family in their home 2-4 times per month, to reflect, set goals and work towards them together. The PAT program has monthly group meetings to allow families to learn and play together.

The program is  free of cost to all participating families and focuses on building the following skills for families:

  • Play as an important learning tool
  • Language Development
  • Parent Child Connection
  • Understanding developmental milestones
