Early Childhood Special Education Services
Jeffco preschools have a continuum of support to meet a student's individual needs. The type of support, amount of service minutes and accommodations required are determined by the Individualized Education Program (IEP) team.

Preschool is available to students who are three and four years old. Students who qualify for early childhood Special Education (SPED) services have the opportunity to attend at least two and a half hours per day, four days a week (Tuesday–Friday) to access a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE). There are preschool sites that offer full-day and modified programming. Tuition is prorated for students who qualify for an IEP.
Child Find and Early Intervention
The Child Find process helps Jeffco Public Schools locate and identify all children, ages 3 through 21, who may have a disability so they can receive the special education services to help them learn and grow.
For our youngest learners, from birth to age 3, there's a related program called Early Intervention.
