Special Education Identification
Getting special education support for your child can seem overwhelming, but Jeffco Public Schools is here to help. We’re committed to creating a welcoming, supportive environment where every student can thrive.
If you suspect your child has a disability that affects their learning, they may qualify for special education services through a federal law called the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

How to Contact Your School
Navigate to your school's website to find school-specific contact information. You can access your school's website by using the Schools dropdown menu at the top of the Jeffco website.
Section 504 Eligibility
A student may also qualify for support under Section 504 if they have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities, such as thinking, lifting or concentrating.
While Section 504 students do not receive special education, they are entitled to accommodations (e.g., extra time on tests, preferential seating or assistive technology) to ensure access to education.
