World Language Day

For the past 50 years, UNC has been the proud sponsor of one of the largest and longest running World Language Days in the nation.  This event is held each Spring at our University Center and is attended by more than 1000 students and teachers from all over Colorado and Wyoming.  Our goal is to provide high school students with a unique opportunity to experience world languages and cultures beyond a classroom setting in a fun and educational environment.

World Language Day 2024

It’s been a long few years, folks, but now the Department of World Languages & Cultures is happy to invite you to join us at World Language Day 2024 on Friday, April 26th, 2024 at the University Center on the UNC campus in Greeley! We are excited to be able to bring this beloved event back, that celebrates communication and language. Registration opens in January and closes March 31, 2024. Payment by check must be received by Friday, April 12, 2024.

This year, competitions include Video submissions for all languages and levels (submissions due March 31, 2024, details on where and how to submit posted on the competitions page), as well as levels I-IV in Chinese, Japanese, and ASL. We invite you to browse our site for updates to our deadlines, competitions, and to view the gallery of past WLD events. We look forward to seeing you and all your students in April!
