hybrid model schedule structure

For middle and high schools

Schools will plan their own hybrid schedules based on:
  • Supporting both in-person and blended learning for Monday - Thursday
  • No more than 50% of total student enrollment may attend in-person learning on any give day
  • When 50% are attending in-person learning, the other 50% are attending remote learning (allows for 6' social distancing)
  • All 6th - 12th grade students who select in-person learning will attend on a hybrid schedule and be assigned to one of two groups
  • Students may attend up to four classes per day
  • Schedules must allow all health and safety guidelines to be met
Hybrid schedule expectations:
  • Principals will provide structures to ensure synchronous (real-time) learning for all students M - TH
  • On remote learning days, students will engage in a blend of synchronous learning (real-time, online) and independent work
  • For synchronous learning on remote days, students will:
    • have work completed before the "live" session
    • will "attend" class at the beginning of each period
    • will work independently or in learning groups following the start of each class
  • Schools will use a common learning management system (like Google Classroom)
  • Instruction will meet pacing set forth by Jeffco curriculum
  • Schools will include interventions in scheduling for students who need more time and support
  • Teachers will post all materials for students in the learning management system
We recognize some students may require a unique or specific schedule to meet their educational needs; schools will work with families and the Special Education Department to make informed decisions about what is best for students while meeting health and safety guidelines.

Schools will adopt one of the schedule structures shown below. Schools may apply for a variance with their Community Superintendent based on specific student needs.

Consecutive Day Schedule

Specific daily schedules will be developed and communicated by schools.

On Fridays:
  • Students will not attend in-person learning
  • Students will log in to the learning management system for each class and engage in learning and submit assignments according to teacher due dates
  • Schools will engage in lesson planning, grading, collaboration, student check-in via online conferencing or phone
  • Schools may develop a schedule where Fridays allow for in-person learning to address special student needs
  • Grading and attendance will be in accordance with CDE remote learning requirements
