
Afternoon rain held off just as Columbine educators and staff gathered outside to leave signatures and messages on their building addition's final beam. A common tradition in the construction world, signing the final beam of a renovation or addition is a way for the community to leave their mark on the new facility.
The school has already undergone a major transformation inside with a new renovated entrance, classrooms and locker rooms. Work is now well underway on the entrance - which will give the school a totally new look - and auxiliary gym.
The entire $14.8 million project will be wrapped up before the end of summer and ready to welcome students back for the 2021-22 school year.
