RISE

RISE logo

RISE is an engagement program administered by the Jeffco Public Schools Department of Federal Programs that builds a collaborative relationship between families, educators, providers and partners to support and improve the learning, development and health of students.

RISE helps create authentic partnerships with families by using a data literacy model that teaches families how data is used in schools to inform instruction.

RISE features one-hour interactive meetings to show families what learning looks like in the classroom and for teachers and families to have conversations about student success. Ultimately, families learn how to help their child at home.

Why RISE?

Research shows that family-school partnerships are critical to student success. While improving family-school relationships is a districtwide focus, Federal Programs has the unique opportunity to enhance family engagement activities by developing and supporting structures that focus on academic learning and achievement.

Using Karen Mapp’s Dual Capacity Framework as a theoretical guide for effective family-school partnerships, the Federal Programs office recognizes the need to provide educators with resources that deepen their capacity for academically focused family engagement.

How is RISE different?

The RISE model reimagines how schools and families interact through traditional conferences. RISE builds on conferences by providing an environment for families to connect with each other and staff around academic outcomes multiple times throughout the year.

The process includes family meetings and one-on-one time specifically focused on group learning, collaboration and building a community of support for student success.
