This board provides students with a powerful platform to share their perspectives and influence the decisions, policies, and practices that impact their learning experience.

Join 200+ student leaders from across Jeffco for the Jeffco Student Leadership Board’s third annual Student Leadership Conference!

This year’s theme, From Voice to Impact, is all about turning ideas into action—creating space for students to share their perspectives, build real-world skills, and walk away with tools to make meaningful change in their schools and communities.

Throughout the day, students will experience:

✨ Student-led breakout sessions (choose from topics like life after graduation, financial literacy, mental health & coping skills, sustainability, and more)

✨ Interactive conversations and activities designed to elevate student voice and spark real ideas for change

✨ Connection with peers from across the district—build community with other student leaders

✨ A resource fair during lunch featuring district teams and community partners

✨ A high-energy, student-driven opening and closing experience

This conference is built by students, for students—centering what matters most to you and creating space for your voice to lead.

First Annual Student Leadership Conference Hosted by Jeffco Student Leadership Board

JSLB hosted the first Jeffco Student Leadership Conference on Friday, April 26, 2024! The conference offered high school students from across the district a day of engaging leadership experiences, including a keynote speaker and breakout sessions led by Jeffco staff and community partners.

Jeffco Student Leadership Board Hosts Successful Second Annual Student Leadership Conference

JSLB hosted its second annual Student Leadership Conference on April 25, 2025, bringing together student leaders from every high school in Jeffco. The conference provided a powerful platform for students to develop leadership skills and connect with peers across the district.

Why Join JSLB?

Participation on the JSLB is designed as a leadership internship experience where students grow their voice, build real-world skills, and make a meaningful impact across the district.

As a member, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of how Jeffco Public Schools operates while working alongside district leaders, community partners, and fellow students on projects that matter. From shaping initiatives to planning events and elevating student perspectives, JSLB members play an active role in creating change.

Through this experience, students build confidence, strengthen their leadership and communication skills, and develop connections that extend beyond their own school—preparing them to lead in their communities and beyond graduation.

JSLB members are selected through an application and interview process led by both staff and current student leaders. We are looking for students who are thoughtful, collaborative, and ready to show up, share their voice, and grow.
