Student Leadership Board

The Jeffco Student Leadership Board (JSLB) exists to amplify the voices of students—the district’s most important stakeholders—in shaping the future of education in Jeffco. This board provides students with a powerful platform to share their perspectives and influence the decisions, policies, and practices that impact their learning experience.

Participation on the JSLB is designed as a leadership internship experience. Students gain valuable opportunities to grow as leaders and deepen their understanding of how Jeffco Schools operates. Through this experience, they learn about district initiatives, collaborate with leaders on meaningful projects, and engage with community partners who are invested in student success. These connections not only strengthen students’ leadership skills but also prepare them to lead in their communities and beyond graduation.

Selection for the JSLB is a prestigious achievement that reflects a student’s dedication to leadership and positive impact. Members are chosen through a competitive process that includes a staff nomination, an application, and an interview conducted by current student leaders.

Through their contributions, JSLB students extend their influence across Jeffco Schools, shaping initiatives, amplifying student voices, and leaving a lasting mark on their peers and the broader school community.
