TEST RESULTS - NOW WHAT?
Positive Test Results
Any positive test result, regardless of rapid antigen screening test or PCR test, will always be considered positive. No subsequent testing is needed, nor will be accepted by Jeffco Public Schools or JCPH. Immediate 5-day isolation is required.
Negative Test Results
Negative test results are no longer required for return-to-school or return-to-work.
COVID Positive/Isolation Return
Regardless of vaccination status, positive cases of COVID and those with symptoms should isolate for 5 days past symptom onset or positive test collection date for asymptomatic cases. The person can return to school/work on day 6 so long as they have not had a fever for at least 24 hours without using medication and no longer have symptoms. If you have symptoms you must stay home and we encourage you to keep testing.
COVID Exposed/Quarantined Return
Vaccinated asymptomatic people are not required to quarantine.
Quarantines for asymptomatic, unvaccinated people exposed to COVID are now 5 days past the exposure date. If the unvaccinated person has not developed any symptoms of COVID since exposure, they can return to school on day 6. No test is required to return.
*CDPHE Mobile Health School Site Testing
The CDPHE Mobile Health testing program is hosted by Jeffco Public schools in order to assist unvaccinated staff and unvaccinated students. The intention of the program is used for surveillance purposes which refers to regular testing for individuals who are not experiencing any COVID-19 symptoms.
Only Jeffco students and staff may test at school sites. Family and community members may test at any other free COVID testing location.
